Ellie Kay talks about giving and tithing

I would like to know how to get my husband to stop spending.  He buys things we don't need & hides them so that when I do see them he can say "I've had that for a long time"  He knows we owe a CC & I like everything paid in full every month but it doesn't stop him.  We do tithe & support children & missionaries, but we could do more if he would just think "Is this necessary" before he buys.  Can you HELP??

I know that the bible speaks of tithing and that God does can do miraculous things for you in provision. However I am compelled to give my money towards mission projects instead (which I feel are God worthy) since it brings the word of God to people who have never heard, whereas the church doesn't get out as much. How can I manage enough money to successfully thithe yet still give to missions? Can I only give to missions?

I have been faithful in tithing for a year now. My husband and I have seperate checking accounts because he is a spender and this was the best solution we found for us. We view finances completely different because he likes to spend money. I tithe on what I make because I am responsible for what I do. Is my tithing on my income alone being obedient to God? Any suggestions? My husband is a believer but he just doesn't seem to feel the need to be obedient in this area. He seems to think he can substitute serving in the church for giving financially.
