The new KFC sandwich...what do you think?!

Kentucky Fried Chicken has introduced a new "sandwich," that has no bun...just two deep-fried chicken patties with bacon and cheese between them. Wow. What do you think? Would you eat this?

Speaking on behalf of my wonderful parents (and many co-workers), they together are doing the Atkins (High Protein/low carb) diet.  When eating fast food, they request their sandwiches without the bun (so it does not go to waste).

KFC sounds like they are responding to the demand for high protein eaters, and recognizing the opportunity to send the unused bread goes to charity.
Koodo's to KFC!

I cut out fast food about a year ago but one night was tempted by the Carl's Junior Grilled Cheese. So Late at night sent my brother to the restaurant to get me and my husband one. Big mistake. I felt so disgusting after I ate it. Me and My brother both  did. We both struggle with weight and my husband can eat forever and never gain a pound. I personally choose not to eat that food that instantly slows every aspect of my life. Having to recover from a cancerous tumor in my head is enough to deal with I don't need weight to be an issue too.

I'm on the Atkin's diet and this is perfect!  I'm tired of going out to eat and ordering things with no buns.  Or going to restaurants and saying no fries.  Believe it or not, a person can eat this way and be heart healthy as long as they don't mix in any sugar and refined flour.  It's been scientifically proven in multiple studies.  So yeah!  I'm excited to try it!  :o)

I AGREE "HEART ATTACK" waiting to happen.  I gave up eating fast food a long time ago.  The thought of eating in any of those places makes me sick.  Besides once you've worked in those places it will be the last time you eat there.

I agree with you, Emily! I'm home schooled, and I have a one-semester health course. They've taught the basics in eating good, nutritious foods.

Besides, even though you're cutting out some of the carbs with the buns and eating more protein, isn't the chicken patties fried. That's carb.

Hey, it sounds like a heart attack with now bun, but I like big macs and those are a heart attack with a bun. Think of it this way, You can put bacon on chicken, tastes good, cheese on chicken, tastes good. Bacon with cheese, tastes good. Mix them all together how would they not taste good. I'll try it Laughing

Sounds absolutely terrible!!! Though it would be great for the people still crazy about the Atkins Diet!! When fast food restaurants try to go all crazy with their food it makes me queasy. Like when Long John Silvers had the fish taco... *shudder*. But it looks like KFC will at least sell a few even if it doesn't stay on their menu!! Good luck to those brave souls!!!

I first heard about the new KFC sandwich on the radio, being in Canada, currently this isn't something on our KFC menu.  Sad, not sure, sounds interesting to say the least, but really!!  Should this be something we should eat.  Can we eat this, what is there a shortage on buns?  Napkins a plenty I hope.  Good Luck with this one Kentucky Fried Chicken!

ok, and I heard that the rules are at least 4 ingredients in the main dish, at least one utensil besides a FORK used, and he shops and cleans up...

I'm blessed to have a husband that cooks a meal for for his family a least twice a week. His specials range from his roasted tomatoe pasta to "Sweet Daddy's Turkey Burgers". He even brought home a delicious Zachary's pizza with Pesto and pepperoni last week. The kids were in heaven and I had a relaxing evening after a long day of work. He even cleaned up the dishes for the night. What a MAN!!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is thinking like Deborah.

It's a cute idea and I'm sure it's fun to joke around, bending your gender stereotypes... but please don't forget that there are many faithful people out there listening who would love to have a spouse or boyfriend/ girlfriend and don't...  and you are purposely excluding them from your ministry when you overlook them consistently through two drive times.

How about invite your single friends and neighbors to dinner night?!!!

Scott & Kelli,

I just wanted to note that I am an avid listener, especially during my deadline of designing and publishing a direct mail publication in eastern NC-all myself. I am a single mom, and my soon to be husband has loved my child dearly for 7 years no and has ministry mising sound at a local church which has an awesome worship team. That being said, it truly wasn't unitl listening to your show this evening that I knew anything about the "National Man's Night to Cook Dinner", and as God would have it, he was making chicken nuggets and instant mashed potatoes for me and my daughter while in my file upload crunch time. I know it may not seem like the most extravagant dinner, but I wanted to say he is a blessing to me while I work as I am self employed, as is he. we all had alot of laughs over the reality of the 'Man Cooking Dinner Tonight' theme and wanted to pass it on to you, my special radio/miinstry hosts. I really am blessed by all you do and the music which speaks volumes into my heart.

Scott & Kelli.  I took you at your word.  I went home last night and prepared dinner.  A really nice frozen pizza, but my wife and daughter went to Bible study and didn't have time to eat much.  My wife only ate one piece and my daughter none.  When she came home she wanted something else.  I ended up bringing the leftovers to work today for lunch, so effectively, I made dinner for myself, and leftovers made lunch for me today.  I guess I'll have to plan dinner for another day!...
Clarence-ps, I love your show!...

I don't understand this holiday, as most married couples have an established dynamic that works for them. For my family, I work, my wife stays home, and she cooks. Why? She can start at 5 so we eat at a decent hour. If I were to cook, we'd eat at 8. For one of my friends, it is exactly the opposite. We each have our responsibilities to fulfill in the family. Who has what responsibility is unimportant, and in this case I find it somewhat spiteful in that it implies women are unfairly burdened by having to cook. Do we need a national women mow the yard day? A national women change the oil in the cars day? No. We just need to joyfully share in the responsibility that God has given us.

My dad fixed Chicken And Rice soup (didn't exactly follow the rules for Men cook dinner day but oh well) and my mom and I left the house to run errands. Well, we come home and eat and he peppered it so much, that the soup turned brown and it was almost too spicey to eat!!!! LOL!!

So much for Men Cook Dinner Day haha.
