    I couldn't sleep very well last night, what about you? My heart felt like it was breaking, again. It occurred to me that there are so many families who've lived in relative terror every day for a long time (people in the Middle East, in our inner cities, in domestic violence situations). And that now, we live in a society where this is becoming the norm.

    Now what?

    How can we stop this?

    We can't, but He can.

    As I was praying this morning, it became so incredibly obvious that our Solution is Jesus Christ. Incessant prayer, moving outside of the church walls, being His literal hands and feet. Reaching out to the lost and broken. There is no other solution.

    Let's pray for all of the families who are devastated today. I can't imagine the pain that they're in. Please Lord, come close.

    Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4

    A couple of years ago, I had a strong impression to ask a co-worker for coffee. Actually, it was more like God shoved me towards the phone to make the connection!

    Maybe you've had a similar experience.  You're spending quiet time with God and suddenly you feel a strong impression to reach out to someone. Maybe it's someone you barely know.

    Follow that nudge and amazing things will happen.

    I texted my friend and we set up a time for coffee. Immediate obviousness? We're both head over heels in love with Jesus. We've prayed for each other, spiritually supported each other and cheered each other on in spiritual low spots. She's such a gift and absolutely like a burst of glitter every time I talk to her! My friendship with her is proof that God really does love me! In fact, He loves YOU too with that same kind of love!

    So, who is God nudging you to connect with today?

    Why not personalize God's love letter? It was written with you in mind anyway. Fill in the blanks with your own name. You can include your family too! Praying God's word back to Him is a definite game-changer!!

    Psalm 91

     1 _____lives in the shelter of the Most High
        and finds rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
    This I declare about the Lord:
    He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
        he is my God, and I trust him.
    For he will rescue me from every trap
        and protect me from deadly disease.
    He will cover _____ with his feathers.
        He will shelter ______ with his wings.
        His faithful promises are my armor and protection.
    _____ am not afraid of the terrors of the night,
        nor the arrow that flies in the day.
    I don't dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
        nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
    Though a thousand fall at my side,
        though ten thousand are dying around me,
        these evils will not touch me.
    Just open my eyes,
        and see how the wicked are punished.

      (You and your family) have made the Lord our refuge,
        we have made the Most High our shelter,
    10  no evil will conquer us;
        no plague will come near our home.
    11  For he will order his angels
        to protect you wherever you go.
    12  They will hold us up with their hands
        so we won't even hurt our foot on a stone.
    13  You will trample upon lions and cobras;
        you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!

     14  The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me.
        I will protect those who trust in my name.
    15  When they call on me, I will answer;
        I will be with them in trouble.
        I will rescue and honor them.
    16  I will reward them with a long life
        and give them my salvation.”
