Based of the best-selling novel Heaven Is For Real by Pastor Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent, the movie follows the true story of Todd and Sonja Burpo’s then four-year-old son Colton Burpo, who matter-of-factly describes his visit to heaven with Jesus, after waking up from an appendix surgery that was suppose to kill him. The pastor and his family are then challenged to dig-deeper and examine this miraculous event and inspire lots of people along the way.
Directed by Randall Wallace and staring Greg Kinnear, “Heaven Is For Real,” is an incredibly heart-warming story about childlike faith, that continues to leave people stunned -- including the film’s director. “I’m amazed it got to me,” Randall Wallace said of the book. “I’ve been around churches all my life and I’ve been exposed to a lot of material that would be categorized as inspirational. Most of the stuff is anything but inspirational for me. But I found this story to have an incredible intrigue and emotional power. It speaks to the cynic in most of us.”
