Broadcast Engineer I - III

Our Engineering Department has an immediate opening for a Broadcast Engineer to work in our Rocklin, CA headquarters. This position provides broadcast technical and engineering support and design for EMF and its broadcasting affiliates.

Job Description:

• Install, maintain, & repair broadcast equipment.
• Perform installation & maintenance to microwave & satellite equipment.
• Repair equipment to the module level.
• Ensure that all equipment within area of responsibility is operating safely & legally.
• Repair equipment to the module level.
• Participate in on-call rotation, being responsible for repairs or arranging for repairs needed during an on-call period.
• Act as Chief Operator/Engineer for 1 or more broadcast station(s).
• Other duties as assigned.
• Up to 25% travel is expected.

Required Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in a medium/large market radio engineering role.
• Associates degree or equivalent in electronics, communication or related field.
• SBE Certification highly desirable.
• 2+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing failures in broadcast equipment to the component level.
• Thorough understanding of the components necessary to broadcast air-chain.
• Experience with VSAT satellite technology preferred.
• Possess understanding of radio frequency emission theory & application.
• User-level knowledge of MS Office.
• Good written & verbal communication skills

Local Promotions Assistant - Baton Rouge, LA

Position Summary:

The Local Promotions Assistant will provide administrative & promotional support for our Baton Rouge, LA Regional Office. Supporting our Local Promotions Team and representing K-LOVE and Air 1 (depending on the region), the Promotions Assistant is charged with day to day administrative tasks and support, in addition to preparation for promotional events including volunteer scheduling; ordering promotional inventory; preparing sponsor agreements; maintaining the community calendar; writing communication pieces; and occasional attendance of events.

Required Qualifications :

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in marketing, customer relations, brand management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Administrative Assistant or Office Manager role.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships
• Strong computer skills; advance knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Demonstrated ability to work independently; establishing and meeting performance/ministry goals

Required Education:

AA degree in marketing, business, public relations, or equivalent.

Local Promotions Manager - Cincinnati, OH

This regionally based position is responsible for the promotion and positive representation of K-LOVE and Air 1 (depending on the region) within an assigned territory.  The Local Promotions Manager develops strong relationships and "presence" within the community, enhancing ministry visibility and brand recognition resulting in increased listeners and committed donor partners.

Qualifications:

• BS / BA degree in marketing, business, public relations or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in marketing, brand management or radio promotions.
• Strong knowledge of promotional & marketing techniques
• Radio promotions experience highly desired
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business / ministry relationships
• Strong communication and presentation skills. Experience and skill creating a contagious enthusiasm.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently; establishing and meeting performance/ministry goals
• User-level knowledge of MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
• Good written & verbal communication skills and public speaking skills.
• This position regularly lifts and/or moves equipment up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and build relationships within the community.
• Plan, develop, participate in, and evaluate local promotional events.
• Proactively suggest and create new and innovative ways to reach potential listeners and spotlight K-LOVE and Air 1.
• Work with local promoters and ministries to promote events that are consistent with the format and audience for K-LOVE and Air 1. Look for ways to promote EMF stations at these events.
• Partner with Brand Managers ensuring consistency and integrity of brand communication and events that may have a national tie-in and/or involve national organizations (record companies, large ministries), etc.
• Schedule and staff all EMF booth activities. Develop a team of approved volunteers to partner in positively represent K-LOVE and Air 1 and assist you with promotional activities
• Collaborate with Philanthropy Department with donor development activities
• Ensure FCC requirements are met for every full power signal assigned in your territory(s).
• Develop and maintain an ongoing calendar of events (at least 6 months in advance) to plan and direct activities to promote the stations.
• Update “Concert/Event” page on EMF Websites.
• Participate in significant local travel, requiring personal transportation large enough to transport booth equipment and marketing/branding items.

Hours Of Work:

• Must have flexibility. Evening & weekend hours are often required.
• On average, 25% travel can be expected.

Manager of Software Development

The Manager of Software Development is responsible for planning and directing the work of a team of desktop, enterprise and web developers supporting EMF’s enterprise information systems and websites (Klove.com & Air1.com).   Additional responsibilities include: Providing technical guidance and ensuring the use of sound engineering practices and effective use of resources. Plans and directs the work of the software development staff, delivering timely solutions to designated objectives. Ensures that SWD technical solutions adhere to “Best Practice” and/or EMF development standards. Works with Business Systems Analysts, Project Managers, and QA Staff in the specification of the development roadmap and then manages the development of software applications through the full software development lifecycle. Mentors engineering staff to efficiently accomplish goals while building flexible, timely solutions. Serves as the solution architect for the team. Act as the single point of accountability for the success of every release. Coordinates the efforts of third-party and outsourced software development vendors. 

Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.  PMP Certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a software developer AND 3 years experience as a Software Development Manager.
• Experience in several complete development cycles from specifications to software delivery following a proper software development lifecycle with an emphasis on rapid development methodologies
• Experience in programming concepts and models such as service oriented architecture; /web services, application frameworks; object oriented programming; web development model; windows development model; and business object modeling.
• Experience implementing mission critical internet/web based application systems using best practices for software code development, re-use, and componentization.
• Experience working with Microsoft development technologies, including SQL Server 2005, Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, Web 2.0.
• Experience with configuration management software-based tools.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
• Strong communication and presentation skills from the staff to the executive level.
• Highly productive, customer centric, team player with excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently; establishing and meeting performance/ministry goals.

Receptionist - On Call

EMF Broadcasting (K-LOVE and Air1 Radio Networks) has an immediate need for an On Call Receptionist for our Rocklin, CA headquarters.

We are looking for positive, outgoing people with a heart for ministry to interact with our listeners, provide excellent customer service, and perform activities geared toward strengthening the relationship between EMF and our listeners.  Willing to assist other departments with additional special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned.  Willing to work flexible hours including holidays & weekends.

Required Experience:

• Prior experience answering multi-line telephone systems and working in a medium to fast paced call environment. 
• Microsoft Office and Internet experience background a must. 
• This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Respond to incoming calls promptly and in a  professional yet welcoming manner.
• Provide accurate information or route call appropriately.
• Ability to research & locate information for difficult inquiries.
• Stay current with information updates, staff changes and procedure revisions.
• Update various contact sheets as assigned such as the frequency list and phone extension list.
• Welcome and direct visitors according to procedure manual.
• Maintain a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within & outside of EMF.
