    Associate Pastor - Rocklin, CA

    Most people know that our staff Pastors minister to our listeners and help them through crisis via phone & email.  That's true for this position as well.  BUT this specific role is a pretty unique.  In addition to ministering to our listeners, this position will also be responsible for creating and managing content for our pastoral team's online presence (web & social media content). 

    Yes, we are looking for someone with the Pastoral experience & credentials that we typically look for, BUT we are also looking for someone who is technically savvy who has a good understanding of writing for the web & social media audience.   

    This is a Full-Time, on-site position based out of our headquarters in Rocklin, CA

    Here's what we're looking for...

    • 6-10 years of Pastoral experience, handling all aspects of the office of a Pastor.
    • Licensed and/or Ordained minister with a recognized Church or denomination.
    • Prior biblical counseling experience and be equipped to deal with suicide, child abuse, elder abuse, marriage problems, personal problems, spiritual problems and/or any other problems associated with life and its experiences and provide biblical counseling.
    • Excellent writing/editing skills.  Preferably with experience writing for the web, blogs, social media, etc.
    • This is a computer intensive role, so strong computer skills are a must! Solid experience using MS Office  (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer).  Experience with content management systems (preferably EKTRON) a plus!  And a quick typing speed is definitely helpful.
    • Must be able to handle incredibly high volumes of calls & emails.
    • Candidates who currently reside in the greater Sacramento area preferred.

    Educational Requirements:       Bachelors and/or Associate Degree in the Ministerial or Counseling field from a recognized College or Religious Institution.

    Broadcast Studio Engineer

    As a Broadcast Studio Engineer you will be responsible for making sure that our broadcast and production equipment runs reliably and at top performance. You will serve as the technical resource for our studios (local and remote), performing scalable industry standard designs, installations, modifications, troubleshooting, and technical/system resolution for studio equipment and programming automation in a fast paced production environment. You will be expected to respond quickly and professionally and will often be on call and managing multiple projects at once.

    A few of your day-to-day responsibilities will include...

    • Perform daily maintenance and configuration of in house and remote studio(s) On Air systems and production / Dub room workstations. Ensure reliable playout, schedule delivery, audio delivery, and play log reporting.
    • Perform maintenance of broadcast and production studio automation computers hardware and software.
    • Work with K-LOVE and Air 1 Traffic and Engineering departments to ensure proper configuration of software relating to affiliate content distribution.
    • Perform software and hardware maintenance on all studio automation server delivery systems to ensure delivery of schedules and audio to remote voice tracker systems.

    To do this job, you'll need the following experience...

    • Minimum of 4 years of experience working with broadcast studio technology as a design engineer and/or broadcast studio integrator/contractor.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of media production, Audio mixers, analog and digital audio distribution and theory, audio/video asset delivery
    • Familiarity with computer networking both Windows and Apple
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with studio design, ability to solder, read line drawings and create wire lists, fabricate broadcast and production studios from wiring line drawings and rack set up documentation
    • Experience installing, maintaining and repairing broadcast and/or recording studio equipment.
    • Specific software experience with Broadcast automation, FTP, HTTP, Mac OS X, MS Visio or CAD, digital audio workstations and plug ins, i.e.: AVID Pro Tools, Sony Soundforge, Adobe audition, Cubase, Apple Logic, Nuendo, Waves, Native instruments
    • Solid understanding and experience with computer hardware repair, KVM systems, Audio cards, USB and Firewire audio devices, audio patchbays and routers
    • Experience working in a fast paced, multi-project environment with the ability to manage shifting priorities

    Network Operations Center (NOC) Operator - PT Overnight


    Our Network Operations Center (NOC) Operators have the huge responsibility of monitoring the operations of EMF's radio networks, including controlling transmitters and maintaining transmitter logs, and taking corrective action to resolve issues or report problems for corrective action.

    So ask yourself, do your friends and family always call you to “fix” their cars, stereos, computers or gadgets? Do you get a thrill when after spending hours trying to figure out why an inanimate piece of equipment isn’t working, you find the problem and solve it?! How about emails? Can you send, receive, read and act on hundreds of emails daily, while using your outstanding communication skills providing our field engineers with accurate and clear information, assisting vendors and working with internal EMF team members? AND while all that’s going on your monitoring our 750+ signals all over the country to be proactive in ensuring they do not go down all while remaining very Zen. Why would we care about that? Because that 1 listener that desperately needs encouragement will turn on the radio and expect to hear a song which will speak directly to them, might even just save their life that day.     Qualifications / Experience:

    • 1+ years of experience in troubleshooting electronics, engineering or technology
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Strong communication & customer service skills
    • Proven ability to deal with multiple, simultaneous problems in a systematic and logical manner
    • Ability to read & understand basic electronic schematics, electrical drawings and construction drawings, making appropriate modifications when necessary
    • Elementary understanding of satellite technology

    Promotions Manager - Kansas City, KS

    Our Promotion Managers (PMs) are responsible for promoting & positively representing K-LOVE and Air1 within their territory. Our PMs develop strong relationships & "presence" within their local communities to increase ministry visibility and brand recognition, resulting in increased listeners.

    A day in the life.......

    OK there's not a typical day in the life of a PM, however it could look something like...wake up and thank God for this day and the opportunities to change lives. You might need a cup of coffee for that, so go ahead, enjoy. Jump in your car and turn on K-LOVE or Air1! Now your ready to hit the ground running. Say "good morning" to your fellow co-workers, head straight to a strategy meeting with your team, then make calls, connect with community and church leaders or event directors to discuss partnerships. You might take a 10 minute break and pray for our listeners who have sent in prayer requests. Take time to coordinate and check details for your next event, write copy, use social media to announce a listener contest. Lunch time already? Go re-fuel, cause your going to need it for your afternoon promotion downtown. Jump in the K-LOVE car and meet your volunteers to spread the word and the music. Fast forward a few hours, wow, that was amazing! It's late, you're physically tired, but there's an energy buzzing inside of you from all those incredible listener stories! You know you're making an impact. Today was a blessed day and on your way home you can't wait to do it all over again tomorrow.

    So here's the nuts and bolts of what we are looking for...

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in promotions, marketing, events, brand management within radio, media or the music industry.
    • Strong knowledge of radio promotional and marketing techniques
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships
    • Strong communication and presentation skills. Experience and skill creating a contagious enthusiasm.

    • This is a very physical position. Our PMs are on their feet all day and regularly lift and transport heavy booths & equipment. Candidates must be able to meet this requirement.
    • This position regularly travels to events within their region and requires a valid drivers license & reliable transportation.
    • Understanding the Kansas City market is crucial, so candidates currently residing in the this area are greatly preferred.
    • More than 40 hours/week is the norm in promotions. And working evenings, weekends & holidays are a regular occurrence.
    • On average, 25% travel can be expected.

    Senior Tax Analyst - Temporary

    This is a temporary position to assist our Finance/Accounting department with property tax preparation.

    When we need you:  January 5, 2015 through May 1, 2015

    Days & Hours:    Monday - Friday, Normal business hours.  40 hr/wk, onsite.

    What to expect: You will immediately begin making a huge impact for our Ministry by tackling the 100+ CA property tax exemptions within the first month. Since we operate in all 50 states, after that we will move on to over 700 returns, personal and real estate property tax filings, sales tax, quarterly sales tax, more property, a lot of tax! Are you a detective, love problem solving? You will enjoy researching and resolving tax issues, valuation issues and ensuring compliance. You will spend a lot of time in Excel so must be very proficient.

    The Senior Tax Analyst is a leading contributor within the tax department. This position partners with the Senior Manager of Tax and Administration.

    Here are additional responsibilities you will be assuming as you move through your day.

    Provide timely and accurate sales and personal property tax filings for states assigned and maintain a tax file for each site/state as needed

    Proactively obtain and file business licenses in cities/counties with this requirement

    Act as coordinator of the financial information from internal finance departments to outside auditors in preparation of Form 990 and other tax reports as assigned

    Maintain an active relationship with the Fixed Asset Accountant and Engineering Department

            Maintain knowledge of each site through the review of lease and acquisition documents

    Determine accurate reporting jurisdictions by tying down the exact location for each site. Specifically, verify site locations in Accounting and Property Tax Management Systems with Leasing Databases, assuring the sites listed are correctly reported in the appropriate tax jurisdiction and that we have captured and reported on all appropriate locations

    Research and resolve tax issues that arise. Proactively communicate issues with Senior Manager of Tax and Administration, clearly stating the issues, facts, and resolutions. Communicate issues and resolutions to other Finance Team Members as appropriate

    Communicate with Legal, Leasing and other departments, to obtain additional information necessary for accurate reporting

    Reduce taxes by applying for all available Christian or charitable exemptions, where cost/benefit warrants

    Protest excessive assessed valuation notices by timely protests to assessors, if tax savings warrants

    Follow-up with counties on billing discrepancies and submit all bills for timely payment

    Manage use of PTMS property tax software for preparation of all returns, and implement additional features contained within this program to improve efficiencies, cost savings and accuracy

     

          Skills you should have to meet our minimum requirements:

    • Minimum 3 years of experience working in tax analysis and reporting in a multi-state environment
    • Strong organizational and administrative skills
    • Knowledge and proficiency with Federal, State, and Local tax laws and regulations and experience
    • Prepare and timely file sales, personal and real property tax statements
    • Proven analytical skills with experience applying financial models and methodology to strategic initiatives, analysis and management
    •   Solid written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong computer skills; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), MapInfo, Google Earth Pro, RadioSoft, and analytic tools
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently; establishing and meeting performance/ministry goals
    • Exhibits versatility and flexibility. Regularly adapts to change while maintaining a positive attitude and high productivity
