Mercy Ships began in 1978 when Don and Deyon Stephens felt a calling to serve the poor by operating hospital ships around the world. Thirty-four years later, Don and Deyon have spoken at conferences across the globe, and been internationally recognized on a number of occasions; including as recipients of the Variety Club International Humanitarian Award joining Winston Churchill and Audrey Hepburn as past awardees.
