About By The Tree

Founded in Weatherford, Texas by Chuck Dennie and Bala Boyd, By The Tree started so Chuck could lead worship at local churches and youth groups. The band quickly garnered a fervent following in its native Texas and eventually branched out to the entire southern and southwestern region of the United States. After releasing two independent CDs they sold after their shows, the significant sales eventually attracted the attention of a Nashville record label.

Known for its pop-rock sound, energy-packed live shows and spiritually minded lyrics, By The Tree had a number of radio hits including “Invade My Soul” and “Hold You High.” Chuck eventually left the group in 2005 and now works as a worship pastor while producing music independently. He was replaced by Aaron Blanton, who took over lead singing duties for By The Tree, which is also comprised of bassist Ben Davis and drummer Garrett Goodwin. Aaron took things in a new direction for the 2006 album, World on Fire, which featured an edgier rock sound on “All Around You” and “I Will Follow You.”

In 2007, the band eventually released a greatest hits collection, Beautiful One: The Best of By the Tree. Although the band members have switched up considerably over the years, By the Tree’s music and mission has remained the same.
