New Song Feature: "You

I know how the story ends…” That’s the secret Shane & Shane divulge on their new single, “You’ve Already Won.”

“We worship a God who’s written the story from beginning to end, and we know He’ll always be faithful,” the beloved duo affirms of the message behind the track. “Let’s celebrate the victory we have in Jesus and the assurance in knowing how the story ends.”

Already being sung in churches across the country, “You’ve Already Won” is an anthem of hope Shane & Shane initially dedicated to Christ followers in Ukraine when war first broke out in their country. Together, Shane Barnard and Shane Everett led the steady-and-true original during a time of worship at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, as part of a live recording for “Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs (Live).”

Admittedly, part of the selection’s immense power lies in its timeliness. This is truly a song for such a time as this. A refrain of peace, “You’ve Already Won” remains relevant in the face of the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict. With lyrics that declare Scripture and the unchanging promises of God, “You’ve Already Won” quickly became a fan favorite and a standout moment on their fresh 10-track set.

No matter what comes my way, I will overcome,” Shane & Shane sing. “I don’t know what You’re doing, but I know what You’ve done. I’m fighting a battle that You’ve already won.”

Barnard penned the mid-tempo worship offering with songwriter Bryan Fowler, who’s co-written hits recorded by TobyMac, Ryan Stevenson and Phil Wickham, among other acts. Of the single and the Shanes, Fowler adds, “I’m grateful for how running this race with these two guys has deepened my love for the Lord and for the church. It’s a joy to write any song that is meant to be sung in the face of evil.”

Shane & Shane recently performed the triumphant “You’ve Already Won” at Colorado’s most iconic music venue when they were invited to be part of the lineup for the inaugural “Air1 Worship Now Live at Red Rocks” event.

The duo will reprise their popular Christmas tour in six cities across their home state of Texas this December.
