Arlene Pellicane

SAN DIEGO (K-LOVE News - Billie Branham) – Mother’s Day is a celebration of everything we do to raise kind, respectful, God-loving children. But realistically, some of us feel like we’re failing sometimes.

Being a parent isn’t an easy, nor glamorous roll. But it is rewarding. Have hope moms! You’re doing alright.

Passing down your values to your kids can be tricky business. “Parents Rising” author Arlene Pellicane says respect starts at home and it’s up to parents to enforce that. She reminds us the Bible says to honor your father and mother, so you can be blessed. But that doesn’t mean kids can’t have their own opinions, if they do it with respect.

Pellicane says moms tend to over-help their children. She says, “Don’t do for your child what they can do for themselves.” And sometimes we need to step back and let it be hard for our kids.

She shares her biggest lesson learned as a mom is to put the principles of God’s word…honor your father and mother, children obey your parents to work in your family.
