Hope In Fear

It's no secret that this week has been a devastating week for our country. Every time we turn around, we hear of people hurting and cities crumbling. When there is fear and tragedy all around us, it's important to remember God's promise of hope. We've been posting scriptures throughout the week to bring encouragement to your day. Here are some of the scriptures - we hope they offer a small bit of hope in your fear.

May Your unfailing love be my comfort, according to Your promise to Your servant. -Psalm 119:76

He leads me beside still, peaceful waters.- Ps. 23:2b

So we do not lose heart, we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. -2 Corinthians 4:16-18

God is good, a hiding place in tough times. He recognizes and welcomes anyone looking for help, No matter how desperate the trouble. -Nahum 1:7

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. -Romans 12:12

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. -Isaiah 41:10

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. -Psalm 23:4

What NOT To Say At The Dinner Table

When it comes to eating dinner with friends, we all know the typical etiquette. Don't talk with food in your mouth, no elbows on the table and never slurp your soup. Topic of discussion is now something to watch while at the dinner table. Here is a short list of things to never say while eating with friends.

1.   What exactly is this?

2.   Heard you got a raise.  That’s awesome how much?

3.   Haven’t you had enough?

4.   That looks…interesting

5.   I’m on a diet/I’m not hungry

6.   This is great, but it would be better with_____

What dinner-stopping comments have you heard?
