No Ban for the Broken

If you’ve ever decided you wanted to get healthy so you join a gym to get some exercise, but your too embarrassed to walk in the doorsbecause you feel like you won’t fit in at your size.  Like you need to be thin before go to the gym.  Vicious cycle.

Well there’s a gym in Canada  that gets that, they’re focusing on helping people that or Obese, so they banned skinny people.

The owner said that thin people often bring down the morale.  And she wants the gym to be a safe haven for overweight people who may be intimidated to work out in front of skinny people.

Funny...it kind of reminds me sometimes of what people might think about God.  You know you want to change, and you do that with God’s help, but you think you’re not good enough yet.

You know God’s not like that.  You don’t need to have it all together to talk to Him.  In fact it’s better if you don’t.  That’s his specialty. He says just come as you are.

He Makes All Things New

Love it how what you think might be a weakness in your life, becomes an asset for making a difference.

Saw this story about a baseball player, Nick Hamilton.  He’s in the college world series right now playing for Kent State.  He’s kind of a big deal.  He was just drafted by the Indians, and it’s cool because his Dad happens to be the play by play guy for that team.  But, there’s something different about this player

When he steps up to home plate he can’t hear the crowd. He can’t even hear when he hits the ball with his bat.

And when he hits a home run, he won’t hear his Dad cheer or announce his name.

He’s deaf.

He said, “I really think everybody has something they go through in life, and his is mine, hopefully it’s something other kids can look up to.”

I don’t know about what you think, but I think that is God.  It’s proof that you need him, and it’s proof that when you accept Him, he makes all things new and good.

Here’s his son, Glenn Hillman singing the National Anthem.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.  The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” -2 Corinthians 5:17
