The Great Comforter

Maybe you’ve experienced this too…when a friend is going through unimaginable loss and pain.  It’s one of those times when you don’t know what to say to your friend…anything you think of just doesn’t seem to be enough, or seems empty.

A Facebook Friend, Stephanie, wrote this on my wall yesterday asking for prayer.  Put all the worries about Christmas budgets into perspective.

She wrote:

Please pray for my husband and myself... we lost our beautiful baby girl 7 months ago today... tomorrow she would have been 8 months... we only got 29 days with her... we waited over 10 years for her and only got 29 days.. People keep telling us it will get easier but it’s just getting harder, I miss her so very much... Please if you can just say a little prayer for our family.

All I know to do is pray…

Father God…be the Great Comforter that you promise you can be for all of us for Stephanie.  Make yourself known to her…wrap your arms around her and hold her.  You promise when we cast our burdens on you…you carry them for us…for your yoke is easy your burden is light. Help her not to run away from you God and blame you, help her to run too you.  Remind her that you have not forgotten about her.  Remind her that you know what it’s like to loose a child too.  In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Thank you.  If you’ve ever given a gift to KLOVE for making it possible for Stephanie to reach out and ask for prayer, and for us to be here and pray with her.

If you’d like to give a Year End Gift in honor of Stephanie and the many others that are going through this Christmas without a loved one, you can do so at here

Thank you.  For filling the gap for those that are hurting.  For being their loved one this Christmas.

Matthew 11:28-30

New International Version (NIV)

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Father in Heaven,

We lift up stephanie and her husband and ask that you would hold their hearts in the palm of your hand. Would you grant them peace and wholness during their time of grief and remind them of your great love for them. I'm asking you that you would keep them so close to yourself as this is the only way to cope with such a loss. Everything is possible in your name. Amen

Yes I will pray for not only Stephanie, but all those who have lost a loved one, regardless of the age.

My heart and prayers goes out to Stephanie and her husband during this time.  Even though I have 3 children I have gone through a miss carriage.  No matter how you lose a child you still have a pain for that loss.
