IS IT WRONG?

Heading out to our backyard, there's a trellis above our back door that is helping an aggressive wisteria plant to continue to take over more than it's share of the real estate up there. There are two turtle doves that insist on building their own nest inside this  wisteria. It seems turtledoves are also poor nest builders. Past nests in the same area have resulted in eggs falling onto our sidewalk as well as the droppings of the birds as they busily go about arranging twigs in the nest. Hoping to change their minds about building in this location again, I placed a scat mat directly in front of the area they are intent on building in. A scat mat is usually put in areas of the house where you don't want a cat or dog to claim as their own - if you know what I mean.  Don't get me wrong.  I love God's creatures.  I especially love listening to the song of the turtledove in the summertime.  But when they begin to make a mess around me, I'm hoping to discourage their building advances.  Is that wrong?

In the Morning

If I don't spend some time in the morning with God - it usually doesn't happen.  Not that I don't talk to Him during the day...I do!  But they are short little blips about whatever I might be thinking about at the time. I'm talking about quality time to thank Him for another day and for all the blessings that He has allowed to come my way.

Over coffee, Dean and I usually read out loud a devotional of some kind. Right now it's a great little book by W Phillip Keller called WHAT IS THE FATHER LIKE. This morning we read chapter 4, I Am Mercy. Paints a picture of how God is the only One in all creation that could have possibly forgiven us for our wrongs...even though we make the choice to accept His mercy or not.  He still shows His mercy, grace and love to us constantly...for instance, in the rising of the sun! Even though the book was written at least 14 years ago - it's application to today's crazy world fits peerfectly.
