Thin Mints. They're best frozen first, it brings out the minty-ness. They last for months in the freezer so our family always stocks up-a good selling tip by the way. Not that most people really need a reason to buy Girl Scout Cookies though. They sell themselves-yum,yum.

You guys are making me hungry with all this cookie talk! Here in Brazil the whole girls scout thing is not that common and neither are thin mints (though I love them!). We also don't have the culture of baking cookies, like north americans, but the store is just across the street Wink We have other sorts of good food! You should all come down someday! God bless you all, listening to klove from Sao Paulo - Brazil

It's a tie between the Thin Mints and the Tag-a-longs (Which are the peanut butter ones)! My sister used to sell cookies and at the local grocery store, she and her fellow troop members dressed up as the cookies!

There are 11 types of GSC and I love them all! I was a cookie mom when my daughter was a scout. It was a lot of fun. The girls got so excited to get their orders in. And then that truck pulled up in  my drive way to unload the cookies in my garage! DUDE I have never seen so many cookies!!! It was a dangerous place to put the cookies because they had no idea how I loved them. I always bought thin mints to freeze and eat in the summer! YOMO Support those little gal and teach them how to be sales people. You go girls!!!

I just wanted to say that I'm surprised about the support of Girl Scouts when the organization supports Planned Parenthood and their new handbooks are filled with feminist women and lesbians that the girls are expected to look up. In a lot of troups the girls aren't even allowed to talk about God.

American Heritage Girls who is a Christian Scouting organization with the same concepts of Girl Scouts such as badge work but a lot of the focus is with God.  It is a great alternative for scouting. If you want more info on American Heritage Girls go to their website at

God Bless!

I LOVE the tagalongs! (those are the chocolate ones w/ the peanut butter in the middle) They are absolutely delicious but even better when you just take a nibble and then dip the whole thing in ice cold milk. Love it!

Here's why there are different names. There are two official cookie bakers. LittleBrownie calls them Samoas and ABC Cookie Company calls them Caramel Delites. Some of the other names are slightly different and some of the optional cookies are different, too. No mystery! Local councils pick a baker and sometimes change from one to the other. Our council switched last year. It was hard to get the names straight after 7 years with one company! My favorite is Samoas/Caramel Delites. Our new favorite this year will be the Thank you Berry Munch which has cranberries. Yummy!

I went on the girl scout website to find out the 2010 flavors.  My findings are below.  I'm in 12th grade now, but I was in girl scouts up until 7th grade.  My favorites cookies were the animal treasures and thanks-a-lots.  They were the shortbread cookies with chocolate!  Best comboniation ever!  They also had pictures of animals, and "thanks" in many languages, respectively.  Since those cookies don't exist anymore I'm excited to try the Thank You Berry Munch.  Also, I don't think carmel delights are a girl thing because my friend and I both don't like them but my dad and stepdad do.

NEW! Thank You Berry Munch

I have to say, I love Girl Scout Cookies, and was a Girl Scout myself all the way though high school. So needless to say, I sold my share of cookies in 13 years of scouting. But what I never understood was why they had to be sold in January! I live in Colorado, and as luck would have it, it snowed so many years on that first Saturday when we were selling! Delivering the cookies wasn't as bad in the snow though... pulling them on a toboggan worked pretty well!

I do remember Juliettes (the caramel cookies which were so awesome!) If I'm not mistaken, they started doing the low fat and low sugar cookies about the time the Juliettes were pulled.

I, too, am saddened that a Christian Radio Station would be promoting a secular organization like Girl Scouts.  GSUSA has taken God out of their oath (it's optional now - you can even replace it with a tree if you like), and have made it clear that Troop meetings are not a place for prayer or singing of hymns/songs/christmas carols, etc.

As Christians, I urge each of you to investigate the organization at the national level, because that is where most of your cookie money is going!!  Find out by searching "Girl Scouts and Lesbians", "Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood", "Girl Scouts and..."   You'll find plenty of articles that will make you never want to eat another cookie.

I encourage each of you to look into the only Christ-Centered alternative, American Heritage Girls.  Also, AHG is the ONLY all-girls organization that the Boy Scouts have signed a Memorandum of Mutual Support (no - the GSUSA does not have this agreement).  If AHG is good enough for the Boy Scouts to support, I think it warrants our support as well.  Visit their website at , and be sure to check out the press room.  You'll be glad you did.

Hi Scott and Kelly, I was listening to you last night on my drive home and was glad to hear you talk about Girl Scout cookies. I work for Girl Scouts Heart of Central California in Modesto. Thanks for supporting Girl Scouts! We also sell Thanks-A-Lot cookie, which is a shortbread with chocolate on one side. And each cookie has "Thank You" in different languages. I would love to send some cookies to you and also to give to Bart and his band. I Love Mercy Me.

God Bless you for all you do!  Betty

Wow, I'm sort of surprised that you guys are supporting Girl Scouts.  I know there are Godly women leading some troops in my area, but when you buy a box of cookies you are financially supporting the organization. They don't stand for the things that K-LOVE stands for.  Our family found a Christ-centered scouting program, American Heritage Girls - - that was founded by a group of GSA leaders who wanted to keep God first.  Our family has been involved in AHG for 7 years and we love the program!

My Girl Scout cookie story: (well, OK, not much of a story, but here goes)

My current favorite is the "Thanks-A-Lot" or "All-Abouts" as they are also known - the shortbread cookies dipped in CHOCOLATE!  I also really like the Thin Mints & the Tagalongs.

This year, I finally got smart & only ordered cookies for the "cookie share" program - which I was just introduced to since moving to WI from MI.  That way I can support the local Girl Scouts without having more cookies in my freezer.  I recently took stock & discovered I have NINE (yes, 9!) boxes of Girl Scout cookies from prior years - and I am the only person in my household!  (I like to bake my own cookies so the Girl Scout cookies function more as "backup" for the rare occasions when I don't have homemade cookies on hand.)

The two new ones are great!  Our troop sold quite a bit of both this year!  My favorite used to be the Samoas (Caramel Delights) but this year I have been more into the Tagalongs (Choc Covered Pnut Butter Patties).  I live in the Florida panhandle and they discontinued the Lemonades and the Choc. Covereld Shortbread this year.  Or maybe they changed the name of the Lemonades.  We do have a lemon flavored one.  I think they're all good really!
