COLTS ! !

Peyton Manning and the Colts are some of the most humble players in the NFL and always conduct themselves in a professional manner.  They work hard and deserve this win ! !  On to the Superbowl. . . Miami awaits.

It's one thing to be a sore loser, its another to disrespect an entire city. My family supports K-Love above and beyond "Business Team Member" status, but I do not pay to be insulted. To say, "Please don't say Katrina" offends me more than I thought was possible. Perhaps Scott has forgotten, or perhaps he never knew. But the SuperDome was a ... See Moreplace of horrors during those weeks. People were raped and murdered in that building. Bodies were floating in the street. There was no electricity or water for months. People looted and burned buildings. The Saints owner said his football team would no longer play there. Politicians divided the city with their racist comments. But the city came together. They rallied around the Saints. The football team was there hope when there seemed to none. To ask us not to mention that historic and tragic part of our history is like asking a mother not to mention a child. It's part of our DNA, whether we like it or not.

So sorry your team didn't make it, Scott. But just because "Katrina" doesn't mean anything to you doesn't mean it doesn't mean anything to the millions of us living in the Gulf Coast who LIVED it.

I love Peyton Manning's story, but the Vikings are still my team and always have been.
If you want to feel sorry for people with a disaster then feel sorry for Minnesota and all those people who died when the bridge collapsed.
If we start letting people win because of disaters, then lets just declare Haiti the winners of this years Super Bowl (even though they don't have a team).
Also Minnesota is one of the few teams that have never won a Super Bowl.  So maybe you could feel sorry for them for that too.

I was at that magical Saints Vikings game last night. I have never felt such a rush of emotion as when that fieldgoal went through the uprights. The Saints motto is finish strong and that is exactly what they are doing. For over forty years they have never been able to do it and finally they have a shot. I am just so excited that we finally made it to a Superbowl. I know they say on TV that this team has been the back bone of the city since the hurricane. You really would have to be here to experience it. It is the only thing other than God that I have ever seen bring people so close together. Oh and Who Dat? We Dat! Hopefully soon to be Superbowl Champs.

Oh my, my heart hurts for those who don't understand  what those of us went through during Katrina. I understand this is about Football and not a hurricane. But, as Christians we need to be sensitive to others feelings, Katrina was very tuff and the city of New Orleans experience a great loss. As well as the Coast of Mississippi. Let's remember the SuperBowl is about Football and disasters are about God's people. All in all football is just a game and life is not....But, with all that said, GO SAINTS!! WHO DAT!! COLTS ALL THE WAY!!!!! After all these years, I am still astounded by the continued quiet, humble presence of the Colts and their leadership along with their continued thanks to God for their success. They understanding that hiring players who best fit in with their team dynamic and have the same "team player" perspective makes for a better team and allows them to come out better in the end over trying to draft the latest "hot item" with a cocky attitude who thinks they alone win games (can anyone say T.O. or Ricky Williams???)  They are just a model of excellence in the game of football and I am so excited that they're back in the Superbowl!!!!  GO COLTS!!!

I made a comment about hearing about Katrina yesterday in regards to the Saints.  I obviously didn't do a very good job of articulating that, so in response I wrote to one of our listeners the following letter, with my deepest apologies and my reason for being a little frustrated by all of the sportscasters' chatter.

I am so sorry that my remarks seemed insensitive.  I spent a large part of my life living in Florida, my wife is a Florida native, and we have certainly lived through our share of hurricanes and tropical storms.  I have spent many sleepless nights broadcasting in Orlando and giving out emergency info during the hurricane and severe weather season.  I can certainly sympathize with how destructive a hurricane can be...  After Katrina, I helped organize fundraisers and drives for New Orleans and the Gulf coast.

My comments were made with my frustration in the constant link that sportscasters put on Katrina, and the Saints this year.  Believe me, no one is more excited to see New Orleans and the Gulf coast bounce back than I am, I have a number of friends who live in the area.  It’s a great story, and my comments were certainly never meant to take anything away from that,  I am so sorry that it came across that way.

I just don’t think that it’s fair to the Saints and their fans, they are a great team, and I think that their merits should stand on all that they have accomplished as a team in the last 2 years.  That was the reason that I was a bit frustrated by the constant mention of Katrina surrounding the Saints.  The reason that the Saints are in the Super Bowl is because they are a great football team, sometimes I feel that some of the sportscasters infer that the reason that they are winning is because people are rolling over to make New Orleans feel good, and I don’t think that’s at all fair to the Saints or the city of New Orleans.

I hope that you’ll accept my apology, and I will be sure to apologize on the air this afternoon.  Thanks for giving me something to think about and thanks for praying that we represent Christ well.  I will be the first to admit that I make mistakes, and try to learn from them.

You're a good man, Scott.  I predict New Orleans will win just because they've got what it takes as a football team.  I graduated from High School just outside New Orleans and watched all those years they were called the "Aints".  I just hope it will be as exciing a game as their last play off game was -- let's see, against who???

I really wanted the vikings to win however they were barely beaten by the Saints so there for I am going to stick with the NFC and say New Orleans 27-23

Scott,
I live in Louisiana and went through hurricane Katrina. I didn't find anything you said to be offensive. I'm actually tired of the people of Louisiana using Katrina as a crutch. That was years ago and had NOTHING to do with the Saints getting into the superbowl. Yes the people of Louisiana are resiliant and our Saints preserve. Our boys played hard and should get the reward they deserve. Geaux Saints!!!

Scott, I just wanted to say about your email and what you just read on the air.. I just wanted to say, how refreshing it was to hear you apologize with sincerity about offending someone. I wish the everyone was so quick to admit fault and apologize for offending others. Can you imagine how more peaceful things could be, instead of blaming others. Now..onto football...I believe the saints deserve to be there, they worked hard to get there! I hope the best, but I'm for the colts!!!
Once again thank you scott and God bless you and your family. I don't want to leave Kelli out so...Hi Kelli!!!! I love listening to you guys.. God Bless you both!!

Saints all the way Baby!!I grew up in the big Easy and all my life have waited for the Saints to make it to the super bowl--I have cheered them on even when they were always loosing, believing, knowing they would make it some day...they did it!  so come on Saints and show them what you're made of--good ole southern cooking and lots of hospitality with a rumbling tornado ready to be loosed...WAHOO!!

Colts most definately. They are one of the vest teams in the NFL( not to see biased). They act mature and do what they are made to do, it's as simpe as that. Hope the Saints people won't feel to bad at the Super Bowl.

I listen to you guys everyday going to work and coming home.  But I really just had to write you today to tell you, I live in Louisiana and the long term effects of Hurricane Katrina are really unbelievable.  In fact, if I didn't see it everyday, I am sure I would not believe it.  I am a social worker and work with a program to place homeless people in housing.  I have been amazed the last few months since I started this job to know there are still hundreds of people that are homeless as a result of that hurricane.  I have personally talked with many who were in the storm, lost everything they own and have actually been living in a car or going from person to person trying to survive for these last 5 years.  It has taught me to look at other catastrophies in a different light and to just never stop praying for those effected by these natural disasters.  Sure I want the Saints to win, but even more I want people to continue to pray for those whose lives were changed forever in matter of a few short hours.

Listen Saints fans, I have nothing against the Saints, but the Vikings beat themselves. Having said that, the Colts will win the superbowl! Peyton Manning will pick apart their defense and expose them just as he did the Jets.
Bronco's fan I'm with you. I wish it were the Bronco's, but as I said already, the Colts are the better team this year.
GO COLTS!!! Scott and Kelly love the show!
God bless K-Love and you all!!!

As a Green Bay Packer fan and former Brett Favre fan, I am as happy as the rest of the state of Wisconsin to see that the SAINTS beat the Vikings. There has been a long-standing rivalry between GBP and MNV. The rivalry became more personal this year with traitor-Favre playing for the Vikings.  So I am so happy the SAINTS are going to the bowl and I hope they take it all! By the way, there's a little something being said locally here in MKE, if the groundhog sees his shadow, Favre retires, if he doesn't, he stays. Or will he?  hehehe
Love you guys!

I live in New Orleans. A lot of people here really like Peyton Manning. His dad played for the Saints his whole career. Peyton grew up here. I really hope the Saints win but it won't be such a hard loss if we do lose. All I know is that whoever is supposed to win will win. God will make sure of that!

I would like the Saints.  The Colts already have a championship.  The Saints have a good chance of making it happen.  The "Who Dat" crew must keep the pressure of running off points.  Drew and Reggie must be clicking in all cylinders.  Go get them, Saints.......

I'm really a Cowboy fan. I was born and raised in the Dallas area. So was my daughter, but somehow she became this die hard colts fan, which caused this rivalry between us (ok, not really US, but our love of the cowboys vs. the colts) So even though Im not a fan of either team, I have to root for the Saints just because I dont want to see the Colts win! (I prefer to refer to them as the Paints and the Bolts! LOL!)
When the Boys beat the undefeated Saints:
Oh when the Saints came marching in
It took my Cowboys to get a win!
Truly, it should be the Boys in the Bowl, but I will be happy to see the Saints win and will welcome my Boys to the Bowl next year!
