Star Wars is returning the the big screen in 3D! Good news or bad news?!

Kelli is distressed to learn that there is a new Star Wars phone coming out and that the movies are coming back to the big screen in 3D! Her boys are gonna go crazy! What do YOU think? Is this good news or bad news? Why?

Check out the story here.

32 years ago my now husband took me to see the first one released. I nearly fell asleep. He wasn't sure that I was the one God wanted him to marry! Well in January it will be 32 years & he watches the movies after I go to bed.

Oh yea! Huge fan, always have been, always will. I'm a techie and so I look at how advanced the battles and scenes in those movies truly were for their time, and to see them come back even better than before!!!! I can NOT wait!!! Kelli, that's when you just cut them off from all forms of news sources, no TV, no Internet and no friends! Or they'll be excited and forget about it until it actually comes out.

This is horrible! As a child of the 80's, I grew up loving Star Wars and was briefly thrilled when the prequels were released...until I saw them. I feel George Lucas took a piece of my childhood away by creating the disastrous prequels. I won't see them EVER again. 3-D would probably traumatize me even further.

I feel George Lucas is doing this, as everything else he does, only for the money. I won't even see the originals in 3-D! BOO George!!!

I'm just curious, I grew up with both Star Wars and Star Trek and I love them both. Recently, I fell in love with the Twilight love story too. My question is: When I tell people I watch Star Wars no one blinks an eye. But if I say anything about watching Twilight, suddenly my Christianity is questioned. What gives?

I stand strongly on the belief that all were once fans, and they only come to loathe the entire thing only because other people were more into it and wore it out for them. For those wore out, I recommend a healthy dose of 4 weeks of time without any Star Wars, then a movie every other week until they are gone, that should cure your loathingitus!

Scott I am with you, this is great news.  Kelli and all who those who are not star wars fans, to borrow a line from a pastor, "I don't know that you can get into heaven" if you don't like star wars, I cannot prove it in the bible but hey, do you really want to take that chance?  Smile Love listening to you guys!!!

Oh joy! May the force be with you all!  3D from episode 1 is fantastic!  I will be there with my son, both probably turning our new Star Wars Droid phones to "silent".  Now I just need to find out where and when to get the phone.

I am a huge Star Wars fan, but I am not fond of
3-D movies. The only 3-D movie I liked was Avatar, but I was bored with the story-line for Avatar. Generally, I don't like wearing the glasses. I will probably watch the movie with my geek-friends, but my family will not want to see it with me - they hate Star Wars.

SW in 3D? Awesome. I have to admit I didn't like SW the first time I saw it, but the second time around I loved it! I like some of Star Trek too, but only certain generations of ST. If I have to choose, it's SW all the way! May God's Force be with us!

In reply to Beth, I know lots of people who have not seen the Star Wars Movie. This includes my own husband of 20 years - despite that I have watched the movies more than anyone can count. I took him to see the special edition in 1997, and he fell asleep sometime after the droids landed on Tatooine!

This is awesome news... for my brother! My brother (10) is a HUGE fan of Star i like it, but not as much as him... you can only watch them so many times. He has turned our family room into a Star Wars Lego center- with SW Lego creations everywhere- he watches it all the time-- and has many books on the subject. You can't watch a SW movie without him giving you a complete commentary on it. He can't wait for the whole 3D stuff to come out.

Oh my son will be so excited.  We too used to watch Star Wars all the time.  When the episode with Jar-Jar Binks came out, my son was 4 or 5.  We were in a store and he saw a chirt with JJB on it and look at me and said with all seriousness, "I have wanted that shirt all my life!"  Now how can you turn down a kid for that?!

Great news, for my brother (10)
He is obsessed with SW.
There are SW lego's all over the family room floor. He spends so much time building each set.
I like them, but you can only see them so many times.
I do think it will be really cool in 3D- but you can only see them so many timesSmile
Luke Skywalker is such a bad actor. That is one of the worst parts of the series.
But i do think it will be really amazing to see them in 3D- if i can stop my brother from giving me a complete commentary on them during the movie.

I am  inbetween.  I am not a huge fan, but have seen all the movies thanks to my cousin Jennifer who LOVES Star Wars.  They are not my favorite, but they weren't bad.  Knowing my husband we may go see it.  My issue is that I hope they don't mess it up.  I know the 3D part is gonna be good, but usually when they remake movies the movie is changed or edited from the original; which ruins the movie.  I definitely won't like the fact that the movie is what most people are gonna talk about and thats all they are gonna talk about.

I once was a big fan of the Star Wars series, but it is bad news. Don't people realize that the story of Anakin is a rip-off of Jesus?  I watched a Star Wars special where George Lucas said that it was time the world had an updated version of the virgin birth myth and he brought it to us. Lucas isn't just copying the story of Jesus, he is making fun of it.  The Star Wars movies are no longer in my household.  Ask yourselves the old question, what would Jesus do?  If you feel bad, then that is probably Jesus answering from inside of you...

Great news, if you saw the shelves in my basement you'd think I either REALLY loved Star Wars, or maybe had a problem. My kids love it though maybe that makes it ok. They'll enjoy seeing the films on the big screen and then coming home to recreate the movie with Dad's toys.

This is awesome in a way; yet disturbing in another. I'm a rather big Star Wars fan; and there are some unique parallels between our Bible and this movie saga (the most being how love can turn into hate through the 'force'). Not sure about it being in 3D, however. Working at Disney, for a semester internship; I'm quite aware of how they handle business. I'm not too fond of 3D technology, but this is a digital age and I've learned the power of subliminal messages while taking graphic design in college.

On a good note; to see some light sabers and the force in three dimensional awe, would be rather intriguing. Like others on here; I wanted be a Jedi in the past; for Halloween. Gotta break out a sowing machine and buy one of those nifty light sabers. I'll definitely be with the good side, versus those Sith characters. May the force be with us; this could be good times. God bless and interesting post.

I was born in 1978, so I was a little young for the movies. However, my parents took my brother and I to see Return on the Jedi in the theaters. We both fell asleep but not because it was boring, just because we were so young. I am a huge Star Wars fan and am stoked that I will get to see the movies in the theater. And in 3D too!!! And I can take my kids who also love Star Wars!! =)
