Alex - Facing the Giants is my favorite move EVER!!!  I rarely watch a movie twice, but I've seen that one many times.  I even have two copies and lend them out all the time.  Every time I hear the theme song by Casting Crowns I think of the scene where you have that kid crawl across the football field and I get so inspired.  That scene made me all-out bawl. I've endured a lot in my life, in fact right now I'm recovering from having been hit by an SUV while running.  I was really messed up - shattered pelvis, broken back, ruptured hip joint, dislocated ankle, knees, wrists, displaced shoulder blades, broken teeth, etc - and the worst part is I've got brain damage that gives me severe migraines up  to 6 times a week that last all day and night.  I've lost parts of my long and short term memory, vision, hearing, speech and cognitive thought.  It's rough because I was always a high achiever - scholastically and physically.  I used to do competitive triathlons and was an executive working on the biggest project of my life, something that would make history and national headline news.  Now it takes me forever just to type this, and they don't know when or if I'll ever be able to go back to work, and my employer cannot hold my position much longer.  And it gets worse - I was cooking a duck when I was hit, and it caught on fire.  It nearly burned my house down and has taken months of restoration to fix it.  AND, I got engaged 4 days before I was hit, and when I was in the ER and trauma unit he fell apart, got very hostile, and broke up with me then wanted to get back together.  But by then I found out a lot of terrible things about him, and said no.  So he tried to change the name on the deed of my house to his and to have my insurance company send him my wage loss pay.  And he broke into my house to steal stuff, but I'd already had my best friend take all my valuables out.  Sounds like a bad country song, except that my dog didn't die (I don't have a dog)!

But God is good and has not left any need go unmet.  And like the kid on the field, there's more that I am capable of that I don't know but God does.  And I pray that I can handle this situation to inspire others to draw closer to Jesus.

We need more movies like that!  Thank you for being obedient to your calling.  I love how you are strategically addressing deep family issues.  Got to go now - getting a headache.

May God bless you richly!

Courageous is really inspiring! I know I was very moved when I read the book and seen the review for the film. I will say that it gives a whole new outlook on life.
Big thanks to all the people who helped put Courageous together.
