A few years ago, someone suggested we ask God what was on His heart.
(That's crazy, right?? What a concept!)
I asked and in my spirit, I heard one word.
"Yemen."
Considered the poorest country in the Arab world, Yemen has been in a civil war since 2014. The United Nations predicted that by end of last year (2021), more than 350,000 Yemeni men, women and children will have lost their lives in this conflict.
Just as God has His eye on starving children, stressed out parents and weary grandparents in Yemen, He has His eye on you and your situation.
He cares for the broken-hearted.
What the heartbreak of Yemen has shown me is that while it's easy for us to get caught up in various worries and distractions, His attention is on the desperate and forgotten.
Luke 12:6-7 (NLT) says “What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins[a]? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.
We've endured two years of a global pandemic and as of this writing, we are witnessing the horrors of what's happening to our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. As we pray over these situations, let's not forget the poor and needy who've been suffering for far too long.
All of God's children are precious, valuable and worthy.
And that includes you.
