Rafael Sierra talks with Cathy King, Executive Director of Canines With a Cause. Canines With a Cause serves the greater Salt Lake City, UT area, pairing rescued service dogs with military veterans who need emotional support. King talks about the process of uniting the service animals with veterans. She describes selecting sheltered dogs which are then sent to the prison system to be trained to become service animals. Then they release the dogs to veterans who finish training them and become their permanent service animals. King says there's no cost to veterans who receive a service dog from them.
