Jeanice Lee talks to Mika Khan, Chief Operations Officer of CASA of Los Angeles. CASA is a Court Appointed Special Advocate who works closely with the court system to train community volunteers to advocate for children in the child welfare/juvenal justice system. L.A. has the largest system in the nation. Khan says CASAs report on the child’s progress and needs to a judge and other professionals so the best decisions can be made for the child’s future. There are currently over 130 + kids waiting for a CASA volunteer. Training is provided and volunteers are needed. Connect at (CASALA.org) or 323.859.2888
