Peter Kaye speaks with Joe Hearing of Friends of Night People, a local nonprofit serving our Buffalo neighbors struggling with food insecurity and homelessness for 55 years. Hearing emphasizes that each person served is an individual and should be treated as such rather than simply part of a particular group of people. He gives a behind the scenes look at their free breakfast and dinner programs offering hot, delicious, and nutritious meals to anyone in need. Hearing shares one of many stories of impact regarding a homeless veteran who initially came in for a meal and overtime gave back through volunteering and is now employed and housed.
