Peter Kaye speaks with Nicholas Calandra of Hearts for the Homeless about the faces of homelessness throughout Buffalo. Calandra says that he feels more people are closer to homelessness now than ever before and shares reasons why that is. Calandra reveals how Hearts for the Homeless “uses food as a conduit to share the Gospel” and how the demand for their food services has grown and morphed to meet that increase. He proudly discusses local partnerships they have including one with the Buffalo Dream Center’s Curbside Church and several other organizations that share the same vision to help those in need throughout Buffalo.
