Peter Kaye speaks with Shawn Ryan of Pennsylvania Adult and Teen Challenge, a faith-based drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation program. Ryan shares his own eighteen-year journey from addiction to living a life free from its chains. He explains how their yearly number of participants has increased from around two hundred and fifty to nearly three thousand due to their increased programs including medical services, detox, and counseling. Ryan also describes the relationship that his organization has with Pennsylvania’s Department of Corrections and how this has had a positive impact on numerous individuals coming out of incarceration.
