Jack Church talks with Shane Mulhern, Executive Director for Thrive DC. Thrive started over 40 years ago as a dinner program for homeless women. Mulhern said over the years Thrive has evolved into an organization aimed at first proving food and shelter for those in need. Thrive also helps with employment as well as physical and mental health services. Mulhern said pre-pandemic they were serving around 100 individuals and families on a daily basis. However, they now serve 400 to 450 as the housing crisis continues to worsen with skyrocketing rental prices.
