Kindra Ponzio talks with Colleen Grant, Co Pres, SHP Beds Santa Barbara Chapter. Grant talks about the joy of delivering free beds to kids that have none, sleeping on the floor or a pile of clothes. She shares her own struggle of being in that position and the affects it had on her. Grant goes by the SHP motto, "no kid sleeps on the floor in my town". A team of volunteers build 60 beds at a time and deliver them to the families in need. Grant says the beds have a huge impact on the child's overall well being, showing up in better attention in school, better grades, better attitude, etc. New chapters are popping up all over America. She says they always seem to have an average of 160 kids on her waiting list at a time.
