Have you ever been waiting to receive some good news? I can remember when I received some of the best news that a grandfather could ever receive, and that is that he was going to become a grandfather. How awesome was that news? When I received the news that one of my children was going to have a child and I would become a grandfather, I had to decide what my name would be. They chose the name "Pops" as my grandfather name.
When I found out, oh, I had to tell everybody this incredible news. I had to share it with everyone. After the birth of a grandchild, all the pictures come and we want to share that with everyone.
Sharing the Greatest News
Our Verse of the Day today says, "Come and let us tell of the Lord's greatness. Let us exalt His name together." This verse reminds us that we can come together to exalt the Lord as part of being in the community of faith, and we want to share this news with everyone that we can. We want to share this great news to all people across the land, and we can get excited about events in our life that happen.
What if we got excited about the greatness of God, that we can lift His name up together? Exalt means just that—lifting His name up, telling people of His incredible character, of who He is, exalting Him above everything. The Bible says that God exalts the name of Christ and gives Him a name that is above every name.
The Name Above All Names
It is exalted so high that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that He is Lord. This verse also challenges us to be vocal about God's greatness, not just privately, but also publicly in our families and our churches and our friendships. To let people magnify the Lord together. Worshiping Him unites us.
It unifies us around God's character, who God really is. Let me ask you a question: Who can you invite into your praise today? Share a testimony with someone. Maybe sing a song together or simply tell someone how good God has been to you. Let's exalt His name together and tell of the Lord's greatness.
