Be Still and Don't Move!

Blessing Offor Tells the Story Behind "Your Love"

Blessing Offor

In music and life, I make all these plans and I work really hard. But sometimes, things just don’t work out like I think they should, like I want them to, like I swore they would. That can be really dispiriting.

But the good news is that we have somewhere to go for inexhaustible hope, optimism and joy. That is the point of knowing who God is!

My favorite verse is Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God.” That’s why the lyrics of “Your Love” say:

Oh be still, and don’t move.

So I will ’cause I want you to

keep me right there in the middle of

           Your love.

It’s a reminder to myself—and to you—that we can turn to God in every circumstance. Being in the middle of His love is the best place to be. That’s why I needed to write this song, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share it with to you.
