Jeanice Lee talks to Dr. Suzan Huntington President/CEO of Boys & Girls Aid whose mission is to ensure foster children and teens find secure, devoted, patient, and long-term families. There are 6k+ kids living in foster care in OR. Dr. Huntington describes the role of a foster parent; costs associated to being a foster parent and the support and training foster parents receive. Dr. Huntington talks about the process of adoption. She shares how they support women who unexpectedly become pregnant and describes their Safe Place Shelter for Youth, which helps runaways/homelessness youth by providing temporary housing/assistance.
