Kindra Ponzio talks with Heloisa Heinen, Exec Director, CASA of Sonoma County. Heinen talks about the importance and impact that the advocates have on the kids they are assigned to in foster care. She says the advocate becomes the voice of the child in court. Heinen shares the process of becoming an advocate and how the advocate talks with all the people in the child' life to present an informed report to the judge. These include, social workers, teachers, foster parents, school counselors,Drs, etc. She says the impact is amazing and gives the advocate the opportunity to change a child's story.
