Sarah Shaver chats with Eileen Brady, a long-time volunteer for the Clinton County (OH) Humane Society, working to find loving homes for cats, dogs, and the occasional hedgehog. Brady says the comfortable shelter and Society are run entirely by about 35 volunteers who go about their work quietly and in over 20 years have placed almost 9,000 animals. Brady describes the icy winter rescue of Betty and her pups and notes it’s important to be serious about adopting a pet because it’s a life-long commitment. Brady then explains Project Abigail and the importance of spay and neuter. (clintoncohumanesociety@yahoo.com)
