Sarah Shaver talked with Erica Connelly, Director of the Kanawha County Public Libraries (KCPL) about "Reimagine Your Library," the renovations at the main library and how the system is changing. Connelly said the KCPL system actually serves people across the entire state and they have over 60,000 card holders and that current renovations on the main library in downtown Charleston began in May, 2020, just a month after she became Director and they moved into the Charleston Town Center Mall temporarily. Connelly talked about seeing the public and working from the mall, the loss of their popular drive-thru, how they helped residents during the 2020 lockdown, preserving the historic building while giving it a modern makeover, to keep it part of the county's history and also part of its future.
