Sarah Shaver talked with Nicole Urban, Program Manager of The Macomb County Senior Services Program, providing support and services to enhance the quality of life, foster independence, and improve the overall wellness of seniors. She confirms they usually serve about 8,000 seniors but 2020’s COVID-19 situation brought that number to over 11,000. Urban advises seniors not to go it alone and wait until they are “burned out” from taking care of a spouse or other family members or working to stay independent to seek services which are available now. Urban said they are very proud that Meals on Wheels never stopped delivering food and comfort during the pandemic.
