LOCAL Closer Look: My Sister's Place in Washington D.C.

Posted on Sunday, May 2, 2021 by Becky Hansen

Becky Hansen talks with Mercedes Lemp about My Sister's Place in Washington DC. My Sister's Place works with families who have experienced domestic abuse. Because of the income disparity and expense of living in DC, most often the biggest barrier to starting again is finding housing. My Sister's Place assists from the initial emergency shelter to transitional and permanent housing. They also have wrap-around programs to assist with providing furniture and household goods as well as programs for children and more.
