LOCAL Closer Look: St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center Flint, MI

Sarah Shaver spoke with Sister Carol Webber, Co-Founder and C.E.O. of St Luke N.E.W. Life Center in Flint, Michigan. Sister Carol said their faith-based organization’s mission is to help at-risk families become sustainable.  She said relationships are critical because healthy relationships are what gives you the safety to move forward in life . St. Luke N.E.W. (North End Women’s) Life Center has social enterprises to train and employ the people they minister to, as well as educational and employment preparation opportunities. Sister Carol talked about the importance of a safe place for people to gather and share their stories, walking along side of people and building them up, and even things as simple as creativity and getting a paycheck.
