Jack Church spoke with Joel Rose, Director for Straight Street Ministry in Gainesville, Georgia. Straight Street Ministry has several programs aimed at helping those suffering in poverty. Rose talked about the Back Pack Love program where Straight Street provides bags of food to school children each Friday that they can take home to their family. Rose said families often face weekends with little or no food and the Back Pack Love program is designed to provide enough food for five meals over the weekend. The program is estimated to benefit as many as 900 families each week.
