Jim Davis talks with Union County NC Dept of Social Services Director Ashley Lantz. There are 3 distinct program areas in Union County DSS (Union County Dept of Social Services):
• Economic Services – subsidy benefits for people who qualify
• Child and Adult Welfare – foster care, adoption, investigations, protective services for adults and children, guardianship
• Behavioral Health Collaborative – a collaboration between UCDSS and Union County Public Schools (UCPS) where DSS hires, trains, and provides school social workers and behavioral health therapists for Union County Public Schools.
