"There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." (John 15:13 NLT)
Days after the Coast Guard and other agencies pulled back on a formal search for 22-year-old Elijah Posana, his own father, Erneto, continued to look - and found his remains in the Gulf waters off Surfside Beach, Texas. A family member shares with us that Airman 1st Class Elijah, stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base, in Missouri, had jumped into the threatening rip tide current when he saw his younger cousins at-risk. They were saved, but then Elijah was pulled out by the powerful rip tide.
Three days after Elijah went missing in the water, his father, who had not given up on finding his son, did find him and pulled his remains out of the water. The tight-knit family had been praying to God that they would be able to find Elijah and honor his bravery.

A family member contacted our News Room and asked us to share their “story of hope,” explaining, “search [for Elijah] was suspended yesterday, and our family was devastated. We were told by the coastguards his body may no longer be in the area, but our family refuse to give up. As of this morning [Tuesday], 3 days after, his father [Erneto] found him in the water and pulled his body out himself. His first reactions were to praise and thank God for helping him find his son. He was found in the same place we lost him, and it was his father who found him. This is our miracle. This is our story of hope.”
A cousin, Evangilyn Froelich, told KHOU-TV, "Elijah's dad wanted everyone to know that no matter what happened, Elijah was going to do the right thing because that's just how good his heart was," Froelich said. "And at his heart, he was a soldier, so if it meant putting his life on the line to save his family, Elijah was going to do it without hesitation."
This has been a tragic loss, please pray for the entire family. To learn more
