Spontaneous Revival at Asbury University

Kevin Brown, the president of Asbury University is sharing his amazement at what has been taking place. After nearly two weeks of non-stop worship and prayer, Brown says “Whether you call this a revival, a renewal, an awakening, or an outpouring, what we have experienced on our campus these last few weeks is unlike anything I have ever seen in my life. I have observed radical humility, compassion, honesty, confession, and life-altering commitments." Brown calls it a “beautiful picture as what scripture refers to as the fruit of the Spirit.” He emphasizes the revival “is not ours to hold alone. We are not the keepers of this movement.”

Brown rejects headlines that suggest the university is ‘ending the revival.’ But the school will hold its last service in Hughes Auditorium on-campus this Thursday. And he believes the movement can continue, even worldwide.

The school officially announces:

The final public evening service will be held on Sunday, February 19, at 7:30 p.m. The final public worship service on Asbury University’s campus will be held on Monday, February 20, at 2:00 p.m.

Asbury University is now offering selective live streaming of services:

Earlier this afternoon (February 19), the university in consultation with local law enforcement and city administration notified incoming visitors that parking and seating had exceeded capacity. Beginning this evening, we will live stream limited portions of our services. Live streaming from cell phones is still prohibited in all venues.
