Prestonwood Pregnancy Center, a ministry of Prestonwood Baptist Church that has served the greater Dallas and Fort Worth areas for three decades, has seen record-breaking growth in the first half of 2021.
To date, the staff and volunteers at two Prestonwood Pregnancy Center offices and two mobile units have seen over 10,000 client visits and performed more than 5,000 ultrasounds.
“Our nurses have been very busy,” said Leanne Jamieson, director of Prestonwood Pregnancy Center. “Our client visits have increased 25% compared to this time in 2020, and the number of ultrasounds performed has doubled from previous years. Our Southwest clinic continues to grow, and client visits at that location are up more than 100% over the previous year. On June 28, we broke a Richardson center record with 42 pregnancy tests performed in one day. We’ve already answered 12,095 calls and are averaging 150 to 200 client callbacks per week. God’s hand over this ministry continues to humble me.”
Founded in 1991, Prestonwood Pregnancy Center has served more than 100,000 clients, a number that continues to grow by the day. The center offers guidance for parents-to-be, ultrasounds, pregnancy tests, STD/STI testing and treatment and in-person and online classes on parenting, manhood and more, all at no cost to clients.
This year, Prestonwood Pregnancy Center also celebrates the following milestones:
Newborn photography sessions with Lindsay Walden
Lindsay Walden, an award-winning, internationally acclaimed, fine art newborn photographer, graciously donated her time and talent and photographed 16 beautiful babies for the 2022 Prestonwood Pregnancy Center Calendar. The babies were photographed on hand-dyed, handcrafted wool backdrops created by Walden herself.

Plans for new Prestonwood Family Resource Center
Prestonwood Pregnancy Center currently offers clients a “Shop Day,” food boxes, resource appointments, maternity and baby supplies and baby gift bags. In order to better serve clients, the center has signed a lease on a new space where a team of architects is at work designing a functional, donation-driven baby boutique where clients can shop for free with dignity. Construction plans include a classroom with free childcare and offices for providing one-on-one counseling or lactation consultations. This new Family Resource Center will offer a fully stocked diaper bank, formula, clothing, books, baby furniture and a place to store donations.

Abortion pill reversal treatments
In June, Prestonwood Pregnancy Center provided three clients with the abortion pill reversal treatment and is working to make information about this option more accessible. The window for receiving treatment after taking the first abortion pill dose is small — just 24 to 72 hours. The reversal medication must be taken throughout the entirety of the woman’s first trimester in order to ensure the pregnancy remains viable. All three of these moms and their babies are now being monitored, and Prestonwood Pregnancy Center will continue to follow their journeys and support them with necessary resources.
“Much of the narrative about pregnancy centers is that we are ‘pro-birth’ not ‘pro-life,’” said Leanne Jamieson. “However, our commitment to these families, our community and our mission means we serve all people in all stages of life. We provide holistic care to moms, dads and babies, always proclaiming the hope and healing found in Jesus.”
