Amid Iran’s missile attacks on Israeli civilians, CityServe Israel is launching the “Adopt a Family, Adopt a Shelter, Stand With Israel” campaign. This unique program encourages support for displaced families while resourcing shelter improvements in areas under attack.
Since Iran’s recent attacks on Israeli civilians began, hundreds of families, many with young children, have been forced to evacuate their homes and are now living in hotels or temporary housing without access to basic necessities. Tragically, many of these are the same families that were already displaced by the Hamas terror attacks on October 7, 2023.
“In ancient Israel, whenever life was in danger, the watchman on the wall would blow the shofar to signal for help,” said CityServe Israel Director Uri Steinberg. “That’s what we’re doing with this campaign. We’re sounding the alarm, alerting every American and every church that we can that our brothers and sisters in Israel desperately need our help. We want every single Israeli family to know that in the face of this evil, they do not stand alone.”
The “Adopt a Family” vertical of the campaign supports families by providing them with the daily essentials needed to restore their dignity, comfort and sense of stability, including:
Baby & Child Needs: Diapers, formula, wipes, bottles, rash cream
Clothing & Underwear: Summer clothes and underwear for 3 children
Toys, Games & Books: For emotional relief and diversion
Medication & Hygiene: Children’s Tylenol/Advil, thermometers, hygiene items.
Through the “Adopt a Shelter” initiative, CityServe Israel is equipping public bomb shelters with the amenities needed to combat the summer heat which can make hours underground nearly unbearable. Many shelters are often hot, poorly ventilated, and unprepared for repeated use. Provisions include:
Portable fans or a mobile AC unit
Cleaning and disinfectant supplies
Enhanced airflow and ventilation support
