RevelationMedia, which produces, licenses, translates and distributes engaging Bible-based media, completed translating The Real Story of Jesus into Canadian French, marking the 50th language translation for the animated short film.
Filled with eye-catching artwork, vivid color and the unchanging Word of God, The Real Story of Jesus is a nine-minute salvation story featuring 300 Bible verses. To date, the episode has been watched over 2.7 million times and over 180,000 people have indicated a decision to follow Christ.
“The mission of RevelationMedia is to lead people into a relationship with our Creator, and the availability of The Real Story of Jesus in 50 languages increases access to the saving message of Jesus to people all over the globe in a format easily accessible and understandable,” said Steve Cleary, RevelationMedia President and Founder.
The 50th language milestone is in partnership with Voice of the Martyrs Canada and is significant because French speakers in Quebec are often considered to be an unreached people group. According to the Government of Canada, French is the first official language spoken for 22% of the 37 million people living in Canada.
“In a time when many people lack knowledge of the Bible, having The Real Story of Jesus translated for French-speaking Canadians is a valuable gift,” said Floyd Brobbel, CEO of Voice of the Martyrs Canada. “This resource has the potential to inspire a new generation to follow Christ and transform their community.”
The Real Story of Jesus is available in select languages through the free iBIBLE app, which is set to be the world’s first visual and interactive Bible that presents the entire biblical narrative as one cohesive story. All available translations of the animated film are accessible at https://get.revelationmedia.org/sharesalvation.
Launched on Easter Sunday 2024, the iBIBLE app has 100,000 downloads across 192 countries. The app currently includes The Real Story of Jesus and 42 episodes covering the full book of Genesis. When completed, iBIBLE will encompass approximately 280 episodes available to be translated into the 7,000-plus languages of the world.
iBIBLE is the first animated series to be certified as an authentic translation of the biblical narrative. Each iBIBLE video script is endorsed by SIL International Translation Services, a leading global authority on Bible translations.
“Since RevelationMedia’s inception, translation has been a key part of our vision for ministry,” said Cleary. “We know it is powerful when people can experience God’s Word in their primary or ‘heart’ language.”
RevelationMedia partners with mission organizations to bring the Bible to those without access. In addition to the iBIBLE app, the organization provides MicroSD cards and proprietary solar-powered tablets loaded with iBIBLE content. It is also developing a solar-powered portable projection system that will allow iBIBLE films to be shown in remote areas of the globe.
RevelationMedia has sponsors committed to fund translating The Real Story of Jesus into 127 additional languages and is seeking donations for 39 more. Each language translation costs $2,500.00. The organization prioritizes future language translations according to those spoken in areas its ministry partners work, gateway languages and languages with high social media engagement.
