After the incredible win, Coco Gauff told US Open's On-Court Interview, “You know that French Open loss was a heartbreak for me. But I realize, you know, God puts you through tribulations and trials and this makes this moment more sweeter than I could imagine.” She made a point of sharing, "You know, I don't pray for results, I just ask that, you know, I get the strength to give it my all...and whatever happens, happens...".

As many celebrated her victory, another committed Christian - Tony Dungy - noted that ESPN posted an image of Coco praying, but incorrectly said "Coco took a moment to soak it all in." Dungy making it crystal clear that Coco was obviously thanking God on her knees in prayer.
