At Maranatha Bible Camp, Oklahoma horseman Steven G. Dyer asks young campers, “Are you willing to become a serious follower of Christ?” Using his horse, “Runner,” as an example, Dyer explains how well-trained Runner is – and that by simple subtle cues, he can communicate with Runner on which way to go. That process came by constant training. Likewise, as believers in Jesus, we are capable of having the close kind of relationship that we can sense the thoughts of God. But that, too, requires diligence and training on our part.
