Fields of Faith, Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ annual peer-to-peer event, took place on athletic fields across the country this past Wednesday, October 11, 2023 and saw even more lives changed by the Gospel of Christ. During a time of continued unrest in our culture, FCA’s student-driven, student-led outdoor events full of prayer, worship, and commitment to Bible reading are crucial.

Field events are continuing as some communities choose another date and time.

“We are so thankful to God for an incredible night of impact on students across the globe,” said FCA Executive Vice President of Ministry Advancement Kellen Cox. “Students walked away encouraged and inspired to either put their faith in Jesus for the first time, or to deepen their walk with Him. We pray this is just the beginning of a powerful move of God in the lives of the next generation.”

Fields of Faith events are fully student-led. Inspired by their peers, young athletes together read God’s Word, pray, and share personal testimonies — deeply enriching their faith in the process. Congregating on their home athletic fields, thousands each year have experienced the spectacular impact of the Gospel.

FCA’s Fields of Faith understands that an athletic field offers a neutral rallying point for a community of faith believers. Here, on their own home turf and standing side by side, student athletes invite, pray for, share with, and challenge their peers to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ.

At a Fields of Faith gathering in West Texas, one student raised $700 in order to purchase bibles to give away to students who accepted Christ at the gathering. Another Fields of Faith gathering in Georgia saw many faith decisions to grow in their relationship with Christ or begin a relationship with Him and had over 600 in attendance.

Here are a few of the Fields of Faith testimonies that this years’ participants shared:

“It’s so refreshing to see so many teens and young adults come together to worship and speak of the goodness of God and what HE has done in their lives right here on the football field!!”

“We had 27 kids come out tonight to praise and worship, hear testimonies of other teenagers and a speaker who shared his heart and story. So proud of our kids!”

“Fields of Faith ‘23 was a great night! Students – you have the opportunity to be GAME CHANGERS! We are praying for you and the mighty things God wants to use you for!”

“We had AN AMAZING turnout last night!! At least 10 gave their life to Christ for the first time, and SEVERAL rededicated their lives to him!! #fieldsoffaith2023”

Created by FCA’s Executive Vice President of Strategic Partnerships Jeff Martin in 2004, Fields of Faith is an effective and highly engaging peer-to-peer event that inspires students to refuel their faith and get back to the basics of reading God’s Word through worship and personal testimonies.

Fields of Faith events are still happening across the country! To find a local Fields of Faith, visit www.fieldsoffaith.com/allfields for a list of events by state, as many more are added weekly.

FCA’s theme for 2023 is “Greater,” based on John 3:30: “He must increase, but I must decrease.” FCA reminds Christian coaches and athletes that their identity and value is in Christ rather than their sport.
