When most churches went with online services due to the pandemic, Pastor Joel N. Morris of Outback Assembly of God Church in remote Lakeview, Oregon, was concerned.

Why would people want to watch their video services, when so many larger churches, with better facilities and equipment, would really ‘look’ better?

But he got an idea, creating some of the most unusual and eye-catching local venues for his sermons. Pastor Joel did not use fake backgrounds. For a message about ‘not building your house on shifting sand,’ he and his video team traveled to area sand dunes to emphasize the scripture. He also taught from a cold boat, sharing about Jesus ‘calming the storm.’ And Pastor Joel went high up to talk about the prominent mention of mountains in the Bible. We have 3 of the video messages below, along with some background on the story from AG News.
