During a recent shift as a pharmacist at a Kroger store in Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Megan Alt saved a customer’s life, and then – same day – she did it again!
Local media reports share that while working the pharmacy’s drive-through she witnessed a customer having convulsions, right there in the car. Sensing that immediate help was needed, Megan grabbed an EpiPen, ran out the fire door exit, gave an injection to ailing person, and then called 911. Later, on the same shift, a store security guard informed Megan that someone was in trouble, passed out in a restroom. She checked, saw the condition, and administered Narcan and again, placed a call to 911.
Her employer, Kroger, expressed great pride in how much Megan cared for her customers, and a congratulation also came from Christian-based Cedarville University where Megan graduated from the School of Pharmacy in 2021.
On Facebook, the school shared: “We’re proud to celebrate Dr. Megan Alt, one of our outstanding pharmacy alumni, who was recently recognized for her life-saving actions while serving patients at Kroger. Her quick thinking and compassionate care made a real difference—and lives were saved because of it.
“The Cedarville University School of Pharmacy, along with Megan’s colleagues at Kroger, congratulate Megan on serving others well,” said Cedarville University.
Megan’s story is a powerful reminder of how Cedarville pharmacy graduates live out their calling in real-world impact.”
