At this hour the K-LOVE news team is monitoring three fires which have burned over 5000 acres in the Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. California Gov. Gavin Newsom declares state of emergency as destructive Southern California fires rage on. 

Palisades Fire 

Several evacuation orders and warnings are in place, including Malibu, Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica.

Those in evacuate now status include: 

Evacuation center's have been established at: 

An emergency evacuation shelter for large animals has been established at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center and Pierce College Those with small animals can go to the Agoura Animal Shelter.

Many road have been closed off to help aid with evacuations including: 

Traffic is backed up on Pacific Palisades Drive, PCH, and Sunset as residents evacuate. 

The following schools will be closed for Wednesday, January 8: Canyon Charter Elementary School, Marquez Charter Elementary School, Palisades Charter Elementary School, and Paul Revere Charter Middle School.

Topanga Elementary Charter School students will report to Woodland Hills Academy on Wednesday.

Eaton Fire

Located Near Altadena Drive and Midwick Drive, Altadena/Pasadena area. The fire has now burned over 1,000 acres with 0 percent containment.

All schools within Pasadena Unified School District are closed Wednesday, January 8.
