Jeanice Lee talks with Zoe Lewis, Executive Director of AccesSurf Hawai’i, serving Oahu and Maui by providing free adaptive ocean recreation experiences to people with disabilities. Lewis discusses programs including Day at the Beach, adaptive surfing, swim clinics, canoeing, and specialized beach days for veterans, service members, and first responders. Lewis also shares the organization’s mission to build inclusive community and advocate for accessible beaches statewide. She highlights future plans to expand to neighbor islands and host the Hawai'i Adaptive Surfing Championships, a global adaptive surfing tour stop every May on Oahu.
