Kindra Ponzio talks with Mindy Casto, Chief of Police for Fresno CA. Being the first female chief in Fresno PD history, Casto shares her journey through the ranks and what influenced her early on to become a police officer. She talks about the programs and events the PD is involved in, saying it's very important to she and her officers to be regularly involved in the community, helping people to get to know them. She says they also have a thriving K-9 programs with 12 dogs that are cross trained and specifically chosen to be able it engage with the community, but able to work when the time comes. Casto expresses how proud she is to have the support of the community, church community, and her own family in law enforcement as well.
